Dull But Hectic Days

How can it be that one side of PoBoy is frozen and the other side is perspiring? Well late in the day at the office as PoBoy began to secure the building for the night, he found one side of the building had the air conditioner turned on (that's the side the office rents to another organization) and the main office side the heat was on. Outside it was clear, windy and cool. Hmmmmm! No wonder the PoBoy contracts pneumonia!

PoBoy was busy once again at the office. He has now entered 92 registrants for the conference. The number also includes children (they have a children's program for the young ones) but PoBoy must make name tags for everyone. By the time registration closes, the last day before the conference begins, they'll probably be close to 180 registrants. The last day before the beginning of the conference is like "hell week" on a college campus; and the first day the conference begins is like a championship football game with everyone running in every direction. Boy! PoBoy will be glad when that is over.

They are offering a "Free" party boat ride up the river in Bay City again this year. PoBoy has his fingers crossed that it will not be cold. He'd like to go on that boat ride. Last time it was held in Bay County in late May, PoBoy didn't take a coat and the weather was unusally cold. PoBoy missed the boat ride.

Well as work concluded today, PoBoy headed home. He stopped off at the Dollar Tree, about a mile and a half out of his way to see if it had remained the same since the last time he visited. Sure enough eveything in the Dollar Tree is still a "dollar!" We also have "Dollar General's" and "Family Dollar" stores too, but they start at a dollar go up. So PoBoy always keeps up-to-date with the inexpensive outlets in his community. He picked up some doggie biscuits and a 3 pack of doggie chew bars for the puppies. Mainly he just checked out the store for future reference.

Next stop was the "Dollar General" to pick up some kitty food. The kitties like 9 Lives Chopped Beef in Gravy and 9 Lives Chicken and Tuna. Well to the surprise of PoBoy the 9 Lives he once bought for a four pack for $1.20 now are sold individually at 3 for dollar. He picked up 6 of those, normally he buys 8. He also picked up a bag of Meow-Mix, total 3.75. Off he went.

He stopped next at a grocery store called "More for Less," where he has the habit of buying his puppies food. He picked up a couple of packs of pork steaks (they get one split in two) for supper and mornings they each have their fried chicken. He bought himself a bag of spagetti and a jar of spagetti sauce. He also picked up a pack of hamburger. Off he goes again. But this time to home having spent almost all his extra dollars and he still has one more week to go before payday at the office again.

As he walked through the door, the puppies attacked him. Into the bags they went like little children at Christmas time. They checked every item out like a cashier does at the checkout register. Satisfied that PoBoy did good, they lapped his face and wanted to play for about half an hour.

Well that was PoBoy's day. Much the same everyday. PoBoy's calls his puppies and they jump in the bed ready for a night's rest. Another one of the same type day's awaits PoBoy at 5:00 a.m. in the morning.
