It's truly been a nice weather weekend here in Michigan. It doesn't happen to often, but it did today. PoBoy discovered that his "homemade website" was no longer working, so he had to change the site. He does apologize for this and also when you go there you will notice his countdown machine is not placed correctly. He'll work on a fine tuning adjustment on that machine during the week.
PoBoy was roused from sleep this Sunday morning by a tongue that kept darting over his closed eye's by his doggie, Sissy. She had to go out so PoBoy had to get up and take care of her needs. PunkyButt, also asleep on the bed, was just too tired to get up at 4 a.m. in the morning. So PoBoy let him sleep and took Sissy for the "potty walk." It's almost like a dance except performed only by the doggies.
After the "stroll" -- that's an old song that PoBoy once danced to -- and after downloading his emails, PoBoy fixed their breakfast. This simply means he pulled chicken from an already cooked thigh. Each puppy gets a thigh or drumstick without the bone for breakfast. Later in the evening each get's a piece of pork steak. It must be pretty good because Sissy now weighs 37 pounds. And her son, PunkyButt weighs a whopping 13 pounds.
Completing his "Pet Control" -- that's pet not pest (for those doggies are never a pest to PoBoy) -- PoBoy took his meds (7 pills and he hopes to cut that down to 2 or 3 at his final heart doctor appointment in September), downloaded and sorted some more emails it was near 9:30 a.m.
After several events in recent months, two of which were near death experiences, PoBoy promised he would attend church. So at 11:00 a.m. PoBoy once again found himself within God's home on earth. It was a good sermon and PoBoy knew it was directed at him personally. After church he stopped at one of those places that resembles a "Speedway" but not, and he bought himself a coffee. That's was PoBoy's first and only coffee all weekend. He has taught himself to go without coffee while at home in hopes that it will someway help his blood pressure readings. He must admit it must have been left over coffee from the 6 a.m. shift. Yuck!
Okay. The main reason for this post was to inform you of the new website address. The second reason was to ask that you press on the signup link for his "Newsletter" so that he can have your most current email address because of his upcoming move to Florida. Finally PoBoy after due deliberation for a few months has decided to use a cell phone. If you would like his cell phone number just use the same sign up form for his newsletter and he'll send to you. Don't forget to include your telephone number. Oh! He's using a service called Verizon and if you happen to be using the same service PoBoy says we can talk forever, no matter where you are, because Verizon to Verizon is totally FREE! PoBoy is definitely a sucker for that word "FREE" LOL LOL
A new work week begins in the morning. Not many weeks left here in Michigan. To be more precise, 15 3/4 weeks remain. Now that is sure newsworthy.

It's the weekend before payday. PoBoy has been waiting for this payday as it is the first time that he has not had to make a payment on the setup fees for his travel trailer.
Back in November 2007, PoBoy waited anxiously for his travel trailer to arrive in Florida. He was so excited and wanted to be there. Just prior to that is when PoBoy's plan had taken a twist. He had to modify his planning. He had to borrow money in order to repair the damaged trailer.
Finally, the trailer was ready to move. Along the way to Florida there were a couple of minor incidents that ended up costing PoBoy an additional 300.00 in hauling expenses. But the trailer arrived safely and PoBoy was content.
In February of 2008, PoBoy finally received word that the trailer was ready to be setup in the campground, Lot #292 to be exact. That is when snag in plan number 2 struck. He was informed there would be a setup fee (leveling trailer, attaching Florida room, etc) in the amount of $2000.00. PoBoy could not believe it. Setup a travel trailer, two thousand dollars. PoBoy surveyed the economics of the matter and he knew his choice was limited. In fact, he had no other choice but to go along with the program. He took his income tax return and paid half the setup costs and in February he began sending the campground not only the lot rent of 202.00 but an additional 200.00 on the remaining balance of the setup costs.
July PoBoy and his youngest son celebrated his son's birthday - he's 24 now. Although PoBoy wanted to celebrate the payoff of his setup fees, he decided to wait until July when he would no longer have to make another payment on the setup charges -- he in fact had done it. Through heart attack, and all his other problems, PoBoy had overcome the obstacle.
This payday would be his first non-setup charges from his paycheck. That extra 200.00 would remain his for a change. What a relief it is to be able to say that. So pour yourself a glass of your favorite drink, and with PoBoy toast a victory celebration with him.
Yesterday, Friday, PoBoy went to his appointment with the heart doctor. Dr. Zack was not in attendance, but his skillful nurse practioner, Kathie, was there in his stead. The receiving nurse ran through his his vitals, and after attaching PoBoy to "Nurse on a Stick," PoBoy was seen by Kathie.
PoBoy weighed in at 200.6 pounds. Up about one pound since his previous appointment. Blood Pressure was elevated, 153/91 and pulse 68. Kathie was pleased with the bloodwork results which showed finally that PoBoy's cholesterol was finally in the acceptble range again. That was certainly a battle for 2 or more years.
PoBoy explained about his higher blood pressure reading as probably a result of having eaten a "whole bag" of potato chips the evening before. This PoBoy coupled with his bout with depression that had all but incapaticated him a couple of weeks before and he explained about the resulting visit to the the counselor for this problem. Kathie made note of it in his record, asking that the counselor send an update after each consultation to keep PoBoy's record up-to-date. PoBoy was assigned September 10, 2008 as his last official visit to the Michigan heart doctor. And his nurse practioner gave PoBoy a final hug in case she was not available on the 10th.
PoBoy felt a momentary feeling of sadness but he managed to regain his composure in a second or two. You know, people seem to touch your life in mysterious ways. Just 6 months before he was a stranger making his first heart doctor office visit, and now, he would be making his final visit on September 10, 2008. God and PoBoy had truly fought the good fight in overcoming a near tragedy.
So this coming week, Tuesday, 15th, payday, PoBoy has much to be thankful for. Celebrate now with the PoBoy how has 97 days to go to retirement, and 111 days to go before the move to Florida.

PoBoy wake up! Yes, he's awake for sure. We'll take a brief break in the summary of his short life. What is needed for PoBoy is to keep you posted of current events too.
Let's begin with the number of days remaining until retirement. Would you believe there are only 98 days. Yes, he double checked, triple checked the calendar. Unbelievable! And the biggie to follow 112 days until the move to Florida.
The move to Florida will be traumatic. In fact, the year of 2008 has proved to be more then even the PoBoy could handle. A heart attack in the morning hours of 2008. A breakup of a relationship. Disaster of moving his travel trailer to Florida. Pending loss, leaving behind, his two most loving companions -- his furries and his beloved kitties. Being clipped by a tractor trailer. Locally moving from one place to another. Finding God. Going to Church for the first time since 1974. Office Conference. Office meetings. Office routines gone awry. And more, but smaller in stress value.
February, March, April and half of May PoBoy visited the depths of depression. It's not a nice place to visit. Since mid May, PoBoy has been inching himself upwards out of that pit. It's the only thing PoBoy could not do alone. So he has saught out help.
PoBoy does not believe in "pill popping" and to be honest he rarely takes even an aspirin although it is prescribed for him. Awwww! That stubborn PoBoy.
He has been to see a counselor who noted his suffering. He was suppose to begin seeing the counselor last week and this week but because of emergencies and mis-communication he has yet to have appointment number one. Monday he is scheduled to see the counselor. Isn't strange how so many emotions are interlocked together. Let's just take one of the culprits, frustration. Frustration seems to lead to fear and anger. Fear brings with it doubts, and all the things that might go wrong. Loss of positive thinking. Everything dark and dreary. To combat that, PoBoy's body seems to have gotten stuck in the anger mode. Angry at the world. Angry at people around him. Angry at everyone and everything. Only his friends, both would be and current on his blog help to maintain his sanity. Maybe its true that writing forces the mind to concentrate and make visible the horror's that he is about to confront.
Thank you for being there through these trying times. PoBoy appreciates it. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.

PoBoy realizes that the time is growing so short now, that with a twitch of his nose, he'll be on his way south. Always liked Elizabeth Montgomery "Bewitched." PoBoy does not like "endings," but "beginnings" are great.
For PoBoy life has not been living. PoBoy exists for no apparent reason. PoBoy often wonders why his mother struggled so to keep him alive. Not sure if he told you, but at his birth things did not go well either. He popped out into this world with two broken collar bones and internal bleeding. Collar bones were an easy enough fix, but that internal bleeding was a definite problem. The doctor's and his mother fought against time to keep him alive. According to records, he came just 44 seconds from death. That's seconds, not minutes, hours, days, months, or years! But he is still here.
The first part of his life must have been happy. He can't remember those years. He picks up his life when he is six. A couple of previous memories come to him before six like the night his dog "Major" got run over in the driveway when his mother returned home from working the night shift. His sister, "Donna Kay" and himself, sat on a staircase step grieving the lost of their friend. Or perhaps another incident of kittens. At that time PoBoy recalls, they had two cats, both female and both pregnant. Donna Kay had them in an old fashion baby carriage and both cat's gave birth almost at the same time and each had 7 kitties. The next memory represents PoBoy's life. Father walking out the door with a bagfull of kittens in one hand, and a rifle in the other. Shots rang out, more then one, several for sure and followed by a splash as the bag of limpless kittens were tossed into a brook that sped by the house. Mother of course in all her wisdom did her best to explain why it had to be done, not enough money to feed and care for them, but still a broken heart is never really mended.
Second part of his life began tragically as well. By the time he was seven, his parents had divorced and although nobody put his father in a bag to be shot, PoBoy's heart was irreparably damaged for life. Everything he know to this point in his life, was suddenly gone from existence. Living with a strange man in your life is tough, but to find that even he is not returning home makes one wonder. His second father was far worse then his first, and the FBI came and hauled him off to jail for "bank robbery." It was sure a sad moment for his mother, but PoBoy was happier. But happiness is short lived.
A one parent household back in the 50's was a tough road to hoe. Mother was not a trained person in any particular area of supporting a family but she vowed never to marry again and to begin her life anew. Strange how PoBoy acquired so many Uncle's and different ones each weekend. Mother located secretarial work which paid next to nothing in those days but still it brought in enough income to pay lot rent (3 of them lived in an 8 x 28 trailer -- non camping of course). There was never enough money to feed all of them nor to clothe them in the best of clothes. No pets. No nothing at all.
PoBoy himself was asked to help and he began his 40 hour a week work program which will finally end on October 17, 2008. He became a dish washer at a local restaurant that sat on the corner of the trailer park where they lived. Mother was also a stickler for education so PoBoy attended school and then returned each evening for four hours of dish washing, earning paid under the table of course, because he wasn't suppose to be working according to the state of Florida. There was no social life, but definitely a work life and even on occassion a "homework life."
Mother got choice option of a bed (trailer had only one bed) because she was everything to keep the family going. There was no such thing as a/c but they did have fans -- seemed like those fans ran 365 years a day. PoBoy witnessed his first naked lady at age of 9. His mother happened to come from the bedroom with nothing on to start breakfast. PoBoy had woke early. PoBoy and his younger sister slept on a pullout bed couch. Anyway PoBoy didn't understand anything about nakedness at that time, but he was heart broken when the trailer park boys finally convinced him there was no Santa Claus, Easter Bunny, or Tooth Fairy. Life had changed again for PoBoy. His new concept was that life was going to be boring. That would prove to be true.
Around 10, PoBoy found himself sleeping alone on the couch. Something about it was not right for him to sleep with his sister anymore. So mother and sister slept in the bed in the bedroom and PoBoy no longer had to help open the couch bed. He simply slept on the couch. Sex education began about the same time. He was taught all the necessary concepts from the trailer park boys. Most of the time he had no idea what they were even talking about but like all learning somethings stick and others pass you buy.
He recalls being a boyscout which he totally hated. And he went on one camping trip with the scout troop and he hated that as well. Work had become his primary relaxation. He never made friends except one. A male friend whom he learned the game of chess and was beaten constantly. Until one day PoBoy made up his mind, no more losing for him. He began winning game after game after game. He won so much that his former friend just gave up on trying to win. PoBoy was sure proud of himself then. He'd whipped the champ. But now he had no friends at all, that is until a fire occurred in the house across from the trailer park. Books entered his life.
