Well the weekend has drawn to an end. Mother's Day is over for another year. Mother's are home tucked in their bed. Time for the father's to prepare for another week of work. Not to forget those wonderful Mom's some of those too, are making preparations for a work week.
PoBoy had himself a boring weekend. The weather set his mood. Saturday was not too bad, weatherwise, but when you add to the equation "broke before payday" well everyone knows how that works. He went to the store one time for groceries for the puppies and kitties. While he was there he overheard a mom explaining how she got "robbed" of her stimulus check.
It seems the lady had visions of receiving $600.00 but when it arrived the government sent only $300.00. She sure was angry. Whatever happened to being thankful for a "windfall." I don't remember "windfall's" being measured out. Oh! Well people are strange creatures for sure. I do hope everyone receives a "stimulus check" from Uncle Sam but be thankful for whatever you get. Besides its more then what you have now.
PoBoy has a piece of financial advice. Make sure you save a little piece of pie for yourself each and every payday. Years from now you'll be glad you did. It makes no difference if you only tuck away $10.00 because your cultivating the roots of a saving's tree. Keep your eye on the future harvest. Watch it grow!
Okay time for PoBoy to step-down off the pedestal. It is good advice however, and PoBoy only wished he had followed it. PoBoy tightens his "purse strings." He vows no more buying things until he arrives in Florida.
He has some major purchases to make when he arrives there. For example, he'll need to buy a bed. The one originally in the trailer was destroyed when the water ran into him retirement home. PoBoy is not sure what size bed he should purchase as he has never figured out the difference between a king size, queen size, regular size, twin size -- all of them are "Greek" to PoBoy. One thing he does know, he'd like it to be a firm bed.
Then there is the matter of a stove. The stove in the trailer is an apartment size but PoBoy is not sure of its usability. It's possible the gas lines might have developed rust during the trailers long sit. A gas leak in a trailer is not something he wants to deal with. He'll need to make some choices. A new stove would be great, but then again a good used stove might serve his needs and of course his finanacial program.
A refrigerator will also be needed. What size? New or used. He saw a refrigerator online at Sears for just over $400.00 that might suit his purpose. Then again a quality used refrigerator might shave a couple of hundred off that new price.
There is also the matter of a small desk or possibly a table to sit in the little tip out. This area will become his computer room. Although there is not much room in the tipout , if he can place a desk and chair there it will work for him.
Finally comes his Florida room, a 10 x 25 square foot of add on to the trailer. He plans for a television to be out there providing he can weatherize the area. A small freezer might be a great addition to store his fish that he hopes to catch.
Oh PoBoy, all the decisions yet to be made.
